But RT users have spoken, and we have our champ.

who first did the Tarzans yell: oha hohohoho or something to that effect. This sound effect is often used for comic effect in later. The first Tarzan sound film was Tarzan the Tiger in 1929 starring Frank. To be quite honest, we here at RT were a little surprised that iconic sounds like Tarzan’s Yell, the Wilhelm Scream, and even Godzilla’s Roar didn’t advance further than they did - or, in some cases, didn’t provide more of a challenge to the sounds that beat them. Although the RKO Picture version of the Tarzan yell was putatively that of Weissmuller.

It was less of a battle than we imagined, but the votes are in, and the sound of Darth Vader Breathing has been crowned as the most Iconic Movie Sound in an overwhelming victory! Vader’s trademark breathing faced little challenge until it met another signature sound from the Star Wars franchise - namely that of the almighty Lightsaber - and in the final round, it went up against the roar of Jurassic Park‘s T-Rex, which faced more difficult battles.
